It was my last day at Iris when I realised Eddy was sitting on my laptop. It’s been emotional. Thank you everyone for being so very kind. Taking some great memories and awesome friendships with me. Gonna miss Iris.

It’s time to say goodbye.

It was my first time out of Brazil and it was amazing.

Thanks to Tim, Phil, Jon, Chas, Tori, Bill, Pieter, Stuart, Tom, Cormac, Rudy, Silvino, Shaun, Chris Lo, Darren for making this experience something unforgettable.

Hopefully I have not forgotten anyone.

Live close enough to the agency to be able to get out and walk. Never know what cool stuff you’ll find!

Oh, and bring your iPhones. Even if you can’t use ‘em as phones, the 4 is amazing for high-res photos/videos on the go. (And let’s be realistic—you could barely make calls with them back in the US, either, haha.)

In 2008 I saw one of my favorite movies: Elite Squad (Tropa de
Elite). Elite Squad 1

I don´t know if everyone knows this movie but it portrays the
reality of the Brazilian´s favelas, the day-to-day life of the
population living with the war between traffickers and police.
Surely I’ve seen this movie over ten times.

In October 2010 the Elite Squad 2 was released. Elite Squad 2
This movie shows how drug trafficking and militia operates in Brazil, as well as the consequences it brimgs to the country.
I know this post is not so funny as some others, but I think it would be very nice to share it with you.

Last week began a new battle in Rio de Janeiro.

This is a trendingtopic in Brazil and for the rest of the world (#paznorio, BOPE, etc.). Again, this war is between
police and traffickers in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
Very similar to the movie. The question is, how long will this war be going in Brazil?

Just when we know we are here for 3 more weeks, we discover that there is a mini bar that’s ready to be open to all the oh-so-sober creatives. Woohoo!

So, just as you thought it was safe to back on the web, we’re back.

You’re not going to need a bigger boat. Just a bigger tolerance level for randomness. Well, for the next three weeks anyway.

Since we’ve been here we’ve come within a gnat’s chuff hair of having to start up a new Iris office at the north pole, and now we’re in the middle of building a Christmas Carol powered rickshaw so at least we’re going to be busy.
